Acne is typically a hereditary trait (retention hyperkeratosis) caused by overactive sebaceous glands. Excessive sebum production creates larger pores that can become clogged with oil and dirt and lead to acne. Oily skin can often be managed through the use of astringent products that target topical congestion and absorb oil. A proper skincare routine is also highly beneficial to this skin type.
