"Acne is a disease. Not a condition or a 'stage' through maturity. It is not a punishment for something you did wrong or failed to do right. You didn't give yourself acne. You don't deserve to have it."
- Dr. James Fulton M.D., Ph.D.
Acne Skin is typically a hereditary trait (retention hyperkeratosis) that is caused by overactive sebaceous glands. An excessive production of sebum creates larger pores which can become clogged with oil and dirt and lead to acne. Oily skin can often be managed through the use of products that are astringent, that target topical congestion and absorb oil. A proper skin care routine is also extremely beneficial to this skin type.
