Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP)

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP)

Katie Marshall

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a synthetic water-soluble, non-irritating, stable derivative of Vitamin C. It is more stable in water but it is less potent than direct L-Ascorbic Acid. Once applied onto the skin, enzymes will convert into it Ascorbic Acid (the pure form of Vitamin C).

Antioxidant Properties: MAP destroys the free radicals caused by UV exposure which causes premature fine lines and wrinkles. Reduces lipid peroxidation and protects against apoptosis (cell death).

Skin Hydration: MAP increases the levels of moisture in your skin, helping it to keep it soft and supple.

Reduction of dark spots: MAP reduces dark spots, freckles, melasma and any other type of hyperpigmentation that's tarnishing your face. MAP also reduces melanin production and also reduces oxidation of the melanin that is produced. MAP may also reverse the conversion of DOPA to o-DOPA quinone (which is a skin pigment).

Brightening: MAP revitalizes dull skin, which gives your complexion a beautiful and healthy glow.

Firmness: MAP boosts the production of collagen, the protein that keeps your skin firm and prevents sagging. MAP regulates the synthesis of the structual protein collagen by hydroxylating collagen making it more stable and improves the way it supports the epidermis.
